Bundelkhandi
The 15 million Bundelkhandi are located mainly in Madhya Pradesh and in the Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, and Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh. They speak an Indo-Aryan language, but little is known about their specific lifestyle and culture. The Bundelkhandi are 95% Hindu and follow the basic Hindu customs and traditions.
Most Bundelis are farmers and quite poor. Literacy is very low, about 30 percent. According to the World Evangelization Research Center, about 95 percent of the Bundelkhandi follow the country’s predominant religion and basic traditions. Only about
1 percent are Christians. While Hindi is widely understood in the area, the Bundelkhandi
people prefer to communicate in their own dialect. In addition, they do not have their own script, and use Hindi for written communication.
The 15 million Bundelkhandi people will not receive the gospel message unless we go to them and produce an indigenous evangelistic film with and for their people. A film which clearly shares the message of Christ’s love and salvation for them. We have produced hundreds of such indigenous videos for the unreached peoples of the world, and we need your help to bring the gospel to this precious people in their heart language and adapted to their culture. So that all can clearly hear and see the gospel and embrace it as their own.
